I can't imagine why we have not stopped this practice before now. The SS Trust Fund was set up for SS retirement payments. Why have any of us allowed any money to be taken from the 'Trust'? I have paid hard earned money into that and I want it spent on what it was intended for. I realize those who work currently are the ones who are paying for current retirees and when I am retired, those who come after me will pay my SS retirement check. With the approaching increase of baby boomers starting to retire now, it is unconscionable that money is being taken out of the 'Trust' for anything other than what it was intended for. That is the true reason the Trust may run out of money, not that there aren't as many workers in generations after the baby boomers. Stop it (raiding the Trust fund)and stop it NOW! |
