| Edward Winters | Harrisburg, PA | April 13, 2008 | The Social Security system cannot be fixed and must be abolished! Bush had the right idea to begin the process of privatization of Social Security, however, he was shouted down by the morons who actually believe that Social Security is sustainable. The mathematical fact is that Social Security is nothing more than an Intergenerational Ponzi Scheme. In other words, it is a Pyramid Scheme that eventually runs out of enough investors to sustain the scam. There are only two differences: 1)the government forces each of us into the pyramid scheme with a proverbial "gun to our heads" and 2) the scam is intergenerational meaning that it is the great-grandchildren of the Roosevelt era "investors" that will have no source of new investors "chumps" to pay for their return. Do the math people - DO THE MATH! The idea that the Congress could ever restrain themselves from dipping into the fund is laughable. However, the tragedy is that people just don' understand why this does not work. The vast majority of Americans are simply innumerate! |

| Peter Sagi | Saint Louis, MO | April 13, 2008 | Dear Senator, My main beef with social security is the lack of a full disclosure as to all terms and conditions, why's, wherefore's, including ANY AND ALL TAX LIABILITIES INCURRED WHEN A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS USED. According to the social security administration, "having and using a social security number is not required to live OR WORK in the United States nor is it required to have just for the sake of having". Because corporate America is woefully ignorant, it is virtually impossible to obtain work without that infernal number. It is also not required by law to obtain a bank account, brokerage account, etc. and yet it is increasingly difficult to operate without that infernal number that I want nothing to do with, which is my right. There are two things that I want: 1) legislation that requires ANYONE OR ANY ENTITY OF ANY SORT WHO ASKS FOR THAT NUMBER to provide full and complete disclosure as to weather or not it is required by law and/or if providing said number incurs a tax liability, the disclosure to be made in PLAIN LANGUAGE. If definitions to words are to have specific legal meanings SAID DEFINITIONS NEED TO BE PROVIDED IN THE DISCLOSURE. Seco...[trimmed for length] |

| Charles Phillips | Smithfield, NC | April 11, 2008 | Dear Congressman, The Social Security system was put in place in 1935 and paid its first benefits out in 1937. In the 68 years since Social Security's inception, 12 presidents and all the members who have served in congress have managed to take our money, barely meet the most basic needs of society, and return to us a program that is looming on the verge of bankruptcy. Ridiculous. This money belongs to me and my family, and we are asking you to give us the opportunity to provide a better result than what Social Security can! Why are we as Americans settling on a program that keeps its people at poverty level? It borders on insanity! Americans can do better than that. And if that doesn't convince you, even FDR...the creator of Social Security said Social Security was a short term fix and that privatized accounts were necessary! This should have been taken care of back in 1965. Privatizing a portion of Social Security will allow ME and MY FAMILY to enjoy a better life! Get with the program or get out and let somebody in who will! Sincerely Yours, A Tax Payer, American Citizen, and VOTER! |
